Please note that access to BVKC Equipment will be granted 2 weeks after the date of your membership commencing (with the exception of courses and programming participants)

We have reworked our membership to offer you more, and to make it easier to get you on the river.

Membership now includes:

  • Free pool sessions in the 2023/2024 winter season!

  • Free use of club kayaks and equipment

  • Youth (11-17) can participate in Alberta Summer Games trials

  • On-river courses / workshops / trips (Playboating, slalom, river running).

  • 10% discount at AQ Outdoors kayak shop (on items under $500)

In addition, your membership support provides these benefits to paddling in the province:

  • Development of whitewater facilities such as Canoe Meadows, the lower Kananaskis River, the Harvey Passage WW park in Calgary, Boulder Run and other community based paddling centres.

  • Protection of rivers and access points such as upper Red Deer River, Ghost Dam road, upper St Mary’s River, Slave River and a voice against changes to the Navigable Waters Protection Act

  • Hosting of paddling events and festivals such as Sundre Paddlefest, Provincial WW Championships, 3 Rivers WW Rendezvous, Alberta Cup slalom races, Alberta Freestyle competitions, 

  • Protection of your rights to paddle without undue government interference or regulation such as the Transport Canada’s boat registration, City of Calgary water closures, or other actions.
